Welcome to Oak Wood Nursery and Forest School – Where Learning Blossoms Outdoors

Located in the South East of Ipswich, Oak Wood Nursery and Forest School offers high-quality early years education in a nurturing, nature-inspired environment.

We cater to children from 3 months to 4 years at Oak Wood Nursery, and from 3 to 4 years at our Forest School. Our approach is rooted in a deep passion for outdoor learning, with extensive outdoor spaces designed to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love for nature.

Our nursery features a large, accessible outdoor area where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow through child-led play. At our Forest School, located in the woodland space at the rear of the nursery, children have the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature developing resilience, independence, and teamwork. At Forest School they learn to take on challenges, grow their own food, understand the environment, use tools, and even prepare snacks over a fire pit supporting children to develop those life skills through nature.

We work closely with parents and carers to ensure each child thrives. Building strong relationships with families is at the heart of what we do, helping children become strong, confident, and independent individuals ready for their next steps.

Our dedicated team provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Many of our educators hold additional qualifications as Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinators (SENDCos) and bring a wealth of experience in supporting children with diverse needs. We also have multiple qualified Forest School Leaders who are passionate about enriching children's understanding of the natural world.
